The agency is seeking a Case Manager to provide comprehensive services to women and/or children who are residents of the battered women’s shelter and to assist in serving other victims of violent and/or intrusive crime.
Responsibilities: 1. Delivers treatment services to clients by using individual, couple, family and group therapy modalities. 2. Provides advocacy services to clients by coordinating cases with local law enforcement, referring clients to community resources, assisting with crisis line coverage and accompanying clients to medical, legal or judicial procedures. 3. Recruitment, scheduling, and training of Victim Services volunteers. 4. Documents treatment services by formulating assessment and treatment plans, writing progress reports and completing other documentation as required by agency and ethical standards. 5. Educates the community about family violence, sexual assault and other crimes by training and providing community education programs as needed. 6. Maintains harmonious working environment by participation in team and staff meeting, consulting with staff regarding topic areas, respecting cultural and lifestyle differences and by providing support and encouragement to other staff members. 7. Assist agency in overall service delivery by performing other administrative duties as delegated or required.

The agency is seeking a CRI Victim Advocate to provide comprehensive advocacy services to children who have witnessed or been involved/negatively affected by violent and/or intrusive crimes, to provide coordination and referral services to the children and their families, and to work closely with law enforcement agencies and other community resources. Responsibilities: 1. Reduces stress and trauma to children by engaging them in services, assists families in accessing services for children, provides parental support and advocacy, provides following up, and coordination services with other community resource agencies. 2. Provides crisis intervention services, provides advocacy services with the criminal justice and civil court system and makes appropriate community referrals. 3. Documents needed services by completing proper assessment forms, write case notes and completes other required agency, LME, state and or federal documentation as required by Family Service of the Piedmont and accreditation standards. 4. Educates the community regarding the trauma to children who have experienced family violence and other crimes, by providing trainings and programs as/when needed. 5. Maintains a harmonious working environment by participating in team and staff meetings, consults with supervisor as well as staff regarding client cases, respects cultural and lifestyle differences of staff and clients, provides support and encouragement to other staff/team members. 6. Meets regularly with the Greensboro Police Department, Youth Services Squad, during case assignment line-up, to develop a close inter-agency relationship to facilitate new referrals, and networking/team building. 7. Assists Family Service of the Piedmont in overall service delivery by performing other administrative duties as delegated or required. 8. Performs all duties to the highest of ethical and Best Practice standards. Qualifications: 1. Assists the physician with assessment by collecting data including physiological, psychological, social, and cultural factors. C. Implements the plan of care as directed by the MD: 1. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1. Provides quality, culturally sensitive, respectful treatment services to a diverse population by using individual, family and group modalities. 2. Documents all treatment services by formulating assessment and treatment plans, writing progress reports and transfer/termination summaries, complete Forensic Interview Reports when needed, and completing other documentation as required by agency and ethical standards. Documentation is to be submitted in a timely manner. 3. Provide continuity of services by coordinating cases with local law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Social Service and maintaining positive working relationships with all service providers. 4. Maintains positive relationships with all multi-disciplinary team (MDT) members and CAC staff by contributing to team cohesiveness, by consulting and collaborating with other staff as needed, and by fostering an atmosphere of tolerance of cultural and lifestyle differences. 5. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate children groups as designated by the CAC Coordinator. 6. Educate the community concerning the Children’s Advocacy Center, child sexual abuse, and family violence by providing training or community education programs as needed. 7. Provide child and family therapy to clients of the FSP Women’s Shelter in Greensboro, N.C. as needed. 10. Present as a Mental Health MDT Representative at team case review meetings. 11. Family Service of the Piedmont is a not for profit agency whose mission is to promote healthy lives and relationships for children, families and individuals, through early intervention, treatment and support in times of crisis or transition.
The agency is seeking a Clinical Addictions Therapist for the MAJORS program to provide individual and family therapy, skill building groups and training to adjudicated juvenile substance abuse population referred by the Juvenile Court.
Responsibilities: 1. Provides quality, culturally sensitive, respectful treatment services to adjudicated juvenile population by using individual, family counseling as well as group skill building/training modalities. 2. Documents all treatment services by formulating assessment and treatment plans, writing progress reports and transfer/termination summaries and completing other documentation as required by agency and ethical standards. Documentation is to be submitted in a timely manner. 3. Maintains harmonious relationships with the Juvenile Court Counselors, judges and other related staff as well as community organizations by providing professional liaison concerning specific cases when indicated, and by providing consultation and advocacy when appropriate. 4. Maintains positive relationships with agency and team staff by contributing to team cohesiveness, by consulting and collaborating with other staff as needed, and by fostering an atmosphere of tolerance of cultural and lifestyle differences. 5. Maintains appropriate licensure and other required credentials through continuing education experiences as required. 6. Participates in development of the MAJORS program, including marketing and outreach as needed. 7. Performs other activities, duties or assignments as requested by the Substance Abuse Division Director as needed for effective Agency functioning. Qualifications: 1. The ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the adjudicated juvenile substance abuse population and their families is required. 2. Ability to work in partnership with other team members. 3. Ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families in which they are helped to gain the skills and confidence to address the substance abuse and related problems they face. 4. Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change. 5. Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the practitioner and to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the persons served or other family members. 6. Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work or related field with experience with substance abuse required; Masters degree in counseling, social work or related field preferred; LPC, LCSW or other related licensure with LCAS preferred.

The agency is seeking Shelter Relief Staff to provide a safe, healthy, organized and supportive atmosphere for women and children at the Clara House battered women’s shelter
Responsibilities: 1. Delivers support services to clients by receiving new intakes, working with residents to supply immediate needs, and handle emergencies as they arise. 2. Provides for a safe and orderly environment by enforcing shelter rules and guidelines, considering client’s needs and concerns, and informing supervisor of any needed repairs. 3. Assures quality service by documenting client activity, filling out forms and records in a timely manner and following all ethical and legal requirements. 4. Maintains harmonious working environment by participation in team and staff meetings, consulting with staff regarding topic areas, respecting cultural and lifestyle differences, and by providing support and encouragement to other staff members. 5. Assists agency in overall service delivery by performing other administrative duties as delegated or required.
