About the Artist
Artist Mary Bogest moved to High Point about twelve years ago. Although she had never picked up a paint brush before, she took a course at Guilford Technical Community College and hasn’t stopped painting since. Her style combines influence of the French Impressionists with a touch of realism. She is primarily known for her paintings depicting High Point and coastal North Carolina, and is frequently commissioned to paint portraits of High Point homes. Her original paintings are held in many private and corporate collections throughout the world.

In addition to her painting, Bogest also writes about the High Point scene in her weekly column “About Town” in The High Point Enterprise. She is a member of the Junior League of High Point and the High Point Children’s Cabinet, and a frequent presence at Family Service of the Piedmont’s annual Oyster Roasts. She lives in High Point with her husband Stanley and her beloved dog Muffin.
